Come for the Django talk, stay for the computer museum tour

The Baltimore Django Web Framework Meetup, which is new this fall, has an event at System Source — which has its own computer museum — on Dec. 1.

A meetup devoted to Django that hatched this fall is set to compare frameworks.
The Baltimore Django Web Framework Meetup will feature a talk from Jeremy Neal on Dec. 1 at System Source HQ in Hunt Valley, said organizer Margie Roswell. Neal will compare Django and Flask, two frameworks for Python.
When it comes to choosing web frameworks, Roswell said, “A lot of people are always making a decision, should I use this or use that?” She says Neal’s talk can help iron out the differences.

Roswell attended a Django conference in Austin earlier this year, then had a job using the framework. She decided to start the Meetup to form a community in the Baltimore area.
“It’s just a lot easier to learn how to do stuff if there are other people in the community you can talk to about it,” she said.
This particular event also features tours of technology that has gone before us. System Source has a Computer Museum with tech dating back to the abacus and original Pong. (You know we love Pong.)
It’ll likely be the only meetup at the space. After Tuesday, Roswell said the meetup will be on the lookout for new space.
