Three more leadership roles are being filled this summer at Philly-area companies.

Zaviant has a new head of AI governance and the Enterprise Center hired a new senior director to oversee its Pennsylvania Minority Business Development Agency Business Center. Plus, SEI brought in a finance pro as an executive VP and head of asset management.

Get all the details below the chart, where we look at the top 20 desirable skills for jobs right now and how many job postings requested each skill.

The Enterprise Center’s Pennsylvania efforts get a new director

The Enterprise Center, a nonprofit focused on helping minority-owned businesses, announced Howard S. Brown would be the project director for its Pennsylvania Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center.

The MBDA is a federal initiative from the US Department of Commerce. The Pennsylvania Business Center helps small businesses in the state apply for loans, secure capital and offers general financial counseling.

“We are pleased to welcome a recognized expert in economic development and entrepreneurship to lead our MBDA Business Center in Pennsylvania,” said Della Clark, president and CEO of the Enterprise Center.

Brown comes to the Enterprise Center from Temple University’s Fox School of Business where he was a professor and executive director of the Temple University Small Business Development Center.

Zaviant doubles down on ethical and responsible AI governance

Center City-based data security and privacy consultant Zaviant appointed Adam Stone as the leader of its AI governance practice group. This group will consult with client companies about how to implement AI in an ethical and responsible way.

Minnesota-based Stone has 20 years of experience with data privacy and security. It’s unclear whether he will relocate to Philly. Before this, he was the vice president of consulting services and chief privacy officer for security and privacy firm Secure Digital Solutions.

“I look forward to collaborating with our talented team and leveraging our collective expertise to help clients build responsible AI standards and solve complex compliance challenges,” Stone said.

This is the latest example of Zaviant leaning into AI adoption. Earlier this year, the company joined Meta’s Open Loop consortium, a group of tech companies that meet to discuss best practices about AI and provide feedback to the federal government.

SEI hires executive vice president for asset management

Michael Lane will be joining Montgomery County-based global financial services company SEI next month as an executive vice president and head of asset management. Lane will lead SEI’s investment management teams and growth for advisor and institutional businesses.

With 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, Lane’s last role was as head of ishares U.S. wealth advisory at Blackrock. Before that he worked in multiple roles at Dimensional Fund Advisors.

“Today’s investors expect a connected, end-to-end experience tailored to their specific needs,” Lane said. ““I’m thrilled to bring my experience to SEI.”
