ICYMI: A black bear was sighted in Newark Thursday and prompted the hashtag #delabear to take hold on social media across the state (and it’s still going).
The City of Newark tweeted some footage of the apparently on-the-go bear:

The University of Delaware Police Department hasn’t said yet if the bear has been located, but its first announcement Thursday about the sighting gave way to later comedic posts, which in turn seemed to inspire #netDE to crack some grizzly-inspired jokes:
