There has rarely been a time in modern history where business owners have faced the kinds of challenges they’re facing now — and if you’re interested in making strategic decisions to help businesses establish themselves and grow in Delaware, the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation’s open project manager position is worth a look.

You may know the foundation for its Freedom Award and Reinventing Delaware program and dinner, which invites citizens to submit their ideas for creating jobs and just generally making Delaware better. The winning ideas, such as last year’s winner FlyGATEWAY, are then incubated for a period of six months and launched to improve Delaware. The foundation is also one of the organizations behind the Equitable Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (E3).

The project manager will work with Executive Director Stephen Sye and the foundation’s board to execute on strategic initiatives. Apply if you have these going for you:

• Two to four years of results-oriented experience in the for-profit or nonprofit environment
• An understanding of the challenges facing emerging and established businesses and nonprofit organizations poised for growth
• Knowledge of business development procedures (taking an idea from concept to launch)
• In-person and virtual event management experience
• Excellent communication skills and relationship building
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising
• Marketing and sales experience including sponsorship acquisition
• Knowledge of membership cultivation and retention strategies
• Strategic thinking and problem solving acumen
• Strong writing skills
• Strong facilitation skills
• A self-starter mentality

This position is currently remote due to COVID-19; the office is located at 1105 N. Market St. in downtown Wilmington.
