First Round Capital’s Chris Fralic just joined MeetMe’s exec board

Fralic brings aboard some 30 years of experience in technology.

On Monday, a new seat was added to MeetMe’s Board of Directors. And on Tuesday, the seat’s occupant was revealed: First Round Capital partner Chris Fralic was named the sixth member of the New Hope, Pa.-based company’s board.

Fralic brings aboard some 30 years of experience in technology. He’s been a partner at the Philly-based venture capital firm since 2006.

Fralic said MeetMe is one of the first companies he worked with at First Round.

“It’s a pleasure to be working again with [MeetMe CEO] Geoff Cook and the team now that they’re a growing public company,” Fralic said in an email.

“Chris is a well known technology veteran who brings substantial experience to MeetMe, including a strong network and deep industry expertise,” Cook said in a press release. “He was also an investor in our predecessor company myYearbook and served as a board observer until the merger with Quepasa in 2011. We are very excited to have him join our board and look forward to his contribution.”

Last time we checked in with MeetMe, the firm had acquired a San Francisco social media platform called Skout. Besides its suburban HQ, the company has a 14 person gateway office at WeWork’s NoLibs location. A request for a current headcound was not immediately responded but our last check in has the company at 120 employees.
