Philly’s favorite bowtie-clad weatherman, Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz, said there’s a good chance for snow in January so you might want to keep this snow-removal app on hand.
Through unSnow.me, you can get your driveway cleared up through a mobile app which can connect users with an array of service providers. Unlike Eden, the Toronto-based snow removal app we told you about in November, unSnowme’s prices can range quite a bit, since the service lets you choose between professional-grade services and more, er, amateur options.
“Some of the service providers using the app are professional snow removal companies and some are teenagers with shovels waiting for a storm so they can make a few bucks,” a spokesperson for the company said. “The great thing about unSnow.me is that it creates a free market that allows people with snow removal jobs get the best price as possible.”
The company, founded by Rutherford, N.J. native Scott Reimels, had a soft launch last year locally in North New Jersey but formally expanded to Philly on Tuesday, along with 150 other cities in the U.S.
