Lauren Ancona’s ‘blueprint’ map of Philly is stunning

A side project from the city's data scientist gets featured in CityLab.

From the mapmaker who brought you this map of Philly’s residential permit parking zones comes a map that appeals more to aesthetics than anything else.

“For Philadelphia, Ancona used the city’s open data portal to add a few flourishes that the general open street map data lacked, including building outlines,” The Atlantic’s CityLab reported. The map spans the globe.

We’re big fans of the typography.

Ancona is a data scientist for the City of Philadelphia.
