A student and professor research team at LaSalle University is building an auto-pilot mode for drones, according to a LaSalle blog post.
Most drones are flown by a control device, but professor William Weaver and LaSalle senior Jack Meeker imagine drones that can essentially fly themselves, using an “algorithm-based control process.” They’re working with Crazyflie quadcopters, drones that can fit in your hand (they’re also the type of robots that Penn’s GRASP Lab works on).
