Just two months after the city’s two daily papers launched their own websites, WHYY’s 18-month-old online media outlet Newsworks.org is now sporting a new look with a responsively (device agnostic) redesigned homepage.

The layout now has a dominant image with clearer supporting hierarchy, and uses larger fonts. You’ll also be glad to see there are fewer — but still plenty — content boxes. The responsive design, which resizes the homepage depending on what kind of device one is using (smartphone, tablet, browser), is a helpful holdover for a news organization that isn’t in the app game.

The new design has only hit its front page, while all its stories retain the old look.
