The guys of Close to Good want to bring you back to your days of playing Mega Man III.

The local band, which plays original music and video game covers (listen here), just released Close to Good III, a whole album covering the music of the 90s-era video game.

Why the video game covers? It’s a tribute to the music from games they loved, said drummer Kevin Ragone.

“We’re all nerds who grew up playing a ton of video games, and still do,” he wrote in an email about the members of Close to Good.

Ragone also said it helps them grow as musicians since most of the music wasn’t meant to be played with traditional instruments.
