National Q1 venture capital numbers are out. In short: compared to Q1 last year, Philly had less deals but more total invested.

Comcast Interactive Capital has invested in Flipboard, the iPad application that forms content into a magazine-like interface. The round was for $50 million at an $200 valuation.
Philly Tech News has a break down of the latest First Round Capital exit. Portfolio Company Jingle Networks has been acquired by Marchex for $62.5 million. The only problem? Jingle had over $90 million of VC money invested.
Josh Kopelman reveals that First Round Capital could have invested in Twitter. Whoops.

MIGHT BE WORTH YOUR TIME
According to an SEC filing, Radnor-based insurance software company Unirisx has raised $1.4 million. The company had previously raised $5.3 million in July 2009 when it was acquired by a “seasoned investor consortium.”
Longevity Biotech has raised $170,000. Information is scarce on the company which, based on the SEC filing, looks like it’s based out of the University City Science Center.
Morristown-based CareKinesis has raised a $3 million second round of funding from local investors Originate Ventures and Emerald Stage2 Ventures.
GIVE A GLANCE
Safeguard Scientifics will release its Q1 finanical data on April 27th.
First Round is among the investors named in Bamboom’s $4.5 million round. The company, which provides live TV infrastructure is a bit of a departure from the typical First Round strategy. The fund typically invests in smaller seed rounds.
