Darlene Cavalier is a leader in the citizen science research movement who launched in 2009 Science Cheerleader, a web community meant to catalyze Americans to involve themselves in broader science conversations.
She is a former Philadelphia 76ers cheerleader who actively seeks out other cheerleaders with science, math and technology backgrounds to dispel stereotypes about their academic inclinations.
