D.C.-based Women Who Tech, an organization that supports and funds women-led startups, has put out a call for applications for its third Women Startup Challenge.
Ten startups will ultimately be selected to pitch in San Francisco in June — getting face time with investors, and prizes including up to $50,000 in cash. This third Challenge is in partnership with Craig Newmark (of Craigslist fame), and the organizers hope to “showcase and fund innovative, women-led startups that are solving problems for people, businesses, and the planet.”
Women Who Tech’s first Women Startup Challenge was held in D.C. in June 2015, and the second was held in New York in November. Ultimately SoftSpot won first place in the latter competition — the Women Who Tech website calls it “the first truly seamless sensor system for clothing.”
Are you part of an early-stage, fast-growing, woman-led startup? Find out more about the criteria to apply here. Applications are due by March 31.
