Here’s a tip for Delawareans who are thinking about starting a small business: Did you know the Small Business Development Center in Delaware has free workshops, consulting and one-on-one biz advising?
Workshops take place monthly in Newark, Dover and Georgetown (plus two this month in Greenwood), and cover topics such as:
- Why business plans are important no matter what type of business you start
- The requirements that banks will have for financing, should you need it
- What steps are needed to establish a business in Delaware
- Developing a timeline to get your business opened
- What resources are available to help
All you have to do is register — again, it’s free — and carve out time from in the morning or afternoon on the dates selected.
Locations and dates through June are:
- Newark (1 Innovation Way, Suite 300) — Feb. 13, March 19, April 9, May 14, June 11
- Greenwood (Greenwood VFW Hall at the corner of Mill Street and Governors Avenue) — Feb. 19 and 20
- Dover (555 South Bay Road) — Feb. 27, March 12, April 23, May 21, June 25
