Flying a drone too close to a police helicopter could mean jail time for Drexel University student Joseph Roselli, who was charged with reckless endangerment and risking a catastrophe, Philly.com reports.
According to the news outlet, Roselli flew a DJI Phantom 4 in the vicinity of a Philadelphia Police Department helicopter which was monitoring a protest in Center City. “We could’ve had a true catastrophe,” said Chief Inspector Joseph Sullivan.
Roselli, 20, was piloting the device from the evo Philly residence at Cira Centre South in University City, reporter Robert Moran writes. Technical.ly contacted Roselli through his Facebook profile, but the student declined to comment.
