Girl Develop It Wilmington is planning its inaugural Front-End Developer Series this summer, and the organizers are seeking women who are interested in signing up to mentor one or two other students. The group is also looking for input from participants on setting the schedule.
In the series, each class will build off the last, and, by the end, participants will have created their own websites. GDI is hosting free study sessions with mentors after each class.
Organizer Megan Anthony said the series has been successful in other GDI chapters and that she’s excited about bringing it to Wilmington this summer.
Pauline Rubin, another GDI organizer and a local dev, agreed.
“Learning to develop a website can be intimidating, and we want to provide a supportive environment where our students are encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and have fun throughout the journey,” she said in an email.
But before signing up, students must have already taken a GDI HTML/CSS class. GDI Wilmington is offering one in May (and also offered one in January). You can also take one with another chapter (like Baltimore or Philadelphia).

- Photoshop for Web Design (optional)
