If Baltimore city wants to hold on to its promising university graduates, the students who could fill open positions at tech companies and startups around town, why not meet the students where they are?
At the Johns Hopkins University today, gb.tc plans to do just that. From 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Garland Hall, the city’s tech council will be speaking with students about Baltimore tech jobs.
It’s part of a larger initiative called GBTC on Campus. Sharon Paley of gb.tc explains in a blog post:
In the coming weeks, gb.tc is going back to school. Hitting local college campuses in an effort to connect with students and inform them about all the exciting things happening in the Baltimore tech and innovation community.
We want to help plug the brain drain and get these bright young minds, not just engaged in Baltimore, but employed by Baltimore-area companies.
