Building and scaling products and services isn’t just a private-sector idea. Earlier this year the Brooklyn Foundation announced it was seeking members for its incubator project, to foster young Brooklyn nonprofits as they build out their products, services, boards and fundraising plans.

Earlier this week the foundation announced the winners, who would become the second cohort, receiving free office space for 18 months, $5,000 and mentorship. (You can find ore info on the first cohort here.)

The new cohort is:

The Alex House Project

  • “AHP aims to increase self-sufficiency and independence for mothers 25 and younger by providing parenting and life skills classes, leadership development and employment opportunities in a safe and caring environment.”

Youth Advocacy Corps

  • “YAC’s goal is to support youth in becoming community leaders and social justice advocates that respond to resource gaps in their own communities.”

Movement Netlab

  • “Netlab trainings focus on how organizations and movements can support each other and how they can build more effective networks united around a common social justice issue or a policy.”
Correction: An earlier version of this story listed the latest cohort as the incubator's first. It's actually the incubator's second. (4/17/17, 12:57 p.m.)
