The long-debated keyboard activism has been seen as “passive” by critics, but this hashtag is producing some IRL results. DeTv founder Ivan Thomas was compelled to create the #WeAreLove hashtag back in August after he had a negative experience in Wilmington.
It was the afternoon and he was spending time with his son in Rockford Park. He recalls the painful moments in a video he created. Watch it:
Thomas wanted to create a movement to inspire others, so he created #WeAreLove. This type of online activism brought 175 inspired individuals out to a day in the park. Here’s video of that:
Rep. John Carney (D-Del.) even made an appearance at one of the events:

But Thomas is not done.
He plans on building a bigger movement of self-love through art, honest conversation and community building. Are you in?
