Last week, around 20 people gathered at the Emerging Enterprise Center for a workshop for startups and small businesses called Open for Business. Every fourth Thursday of every month, the EEC brings in community partners such as the City of Wilmington, SCORE, the Small Business Development Center, the Women’s Business Center and more to provide free consulting. There’s advice on building a business plan, securing patents, creating a legal entity, etc., etc.
It’s worth stating: This is a fantastic resource for first-time entrepreneurs.
You do not need to be a member of the incubator or a member of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce to receive advice.
The next event will take place Aug. 25, followed by Sept. 22, Oct. 27 and Dec. 8. November’s event will be canceled due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
You can register for the event online.
