Founded in January, DCfempreneur is a community connecting D.C.-area women entrepreneurs through networking, professional events and educational opportunities in person and online, while Office Evolution Tysons provides flexible coworking and office space for startups and small businesses.
The pair’s joint venture, Startup Social, is looking to draw in local entrepreneurs to connect, collaborate and share ideas to thrive in the growing startup ecosystem here. The inaugural event, set for Wednesday, Oct. 23, will be themed “A Founders Journey,” featuring a panel discussion with four startup CEOs, speed networking, startup pitches and an open mic opportunity.
DC Startup Week organizer and Upace founder Rachel Koretsky will moderate the panel discussion. The event will be hosted at Office Evolution Tysons at 609 Westwood Center Drive, Suite 110, and food and beverages will be provided.
RegisterThe panelists at the inaugural Startup Social event includes:
- Joe Falit, cofounder and CEO of Yombu, a software and biometric company behind a program that uses fingerprints to make payments, access rewards and scan into gyms and coworking spaces
- Dan Simpkins, an experienced entrepreneur who previously founded and led two startup companies, SALIX Technologies and Hillcrest Labs; he now leads Domusys, Inc., an IoT tech startup focused on helping consumers manage and maintain their homes
- Judy Schramm, CEO of ProResource, a social media agency that helps create personal brands for CEOs and their leadership teams
- Monaj Ramnani, founder and CEO of SalesIntel, a company that manages a sales intelligence platform that provides B2B data to accelerate sales
