Wholesale data center services provider Vantage Data Centers has completed phase one of its 42-acre Ashburn, Va., campus where five data centers will live, totaling more than 1 million sq. feet when complete. The company provides flexible data center solutions to hyperscale cloud and enterprise customers.

The announcement comes two months after Vantage closed $225 million in debt financing to accelerate its growth in Northern Virginia, Silicon Valley and Quincy, Wash., Technical.ly DC previously reported, and more than a year after the company purchased 42 acres of land in Ashburn to build the campus.

Located in an area pegged “Data Center Alley” in Northern Virginia, the Ashburn Campus now offers customers with six megawatts of IT capacity. Vantage said that this will be the company’s largest campus in its history, at completion, to welcome customers. The campus features a unique design from the company’s other sites, including diverse fiber connections and solar and wind energy sources onsite.

“As we open the doors at our newest campus, we are attracting major hyperscale, cloud and enterprise prospects across the globe,” Lee Kestler, Vantage’s chief commercial officer said in a statement. “We have a robust pipeline of activity, and we are now focused on ramping up the second phase of development to keep up with demand.”

The campus will be equipped with amenities such as office space, conference rooms and large-scale break room facilities with food, games, entertainment, and secure storage with easy access between data halls.

The second phase of the campus is on schedule for completion by August, adding an additional eight megawatts of IT capacity. By its completion depending on customer demand, the campus will have 142MW of IT capacity.

For job seekers, Vantage is still hiring for multiple positions to work out of its Ashburn Campus.
