The DMV Startup Census is back for a second year, and this time it shouldn’t take as long to complete.

The initiative from Fosterly looks to collect data on the region’s startup companies. Then, that data gets compiled into a report.

Fosterly is seeking responses from founders and company leaders for its DMV Startup Census. It’s open through Jan. 5, 2018. To be included, companies must be in Maryland, Virginia or D.C., and self-identify as participating in the ecosystem. While the definition of a startup is at times in dispute, this project puts it at fewer than five years old and less than $50 million in revenue.

Creators also made an effort to shorten the time the census takes to complete compared to last year. Additionally, a partnership with Virginia Tech is adding some rigor to the process.

So take a few moments to let the community know you’re out there. Those of us who track the startup community will really appreciate it.
