PYT Funds founder Stacie Whisonant will speak TEDxFoggyBottom

She'll speak about higher education funding — a very apropos topic for an event that takes place on a college campus.

The theme of TEDxFoggyBottom 2017 is “In Metamorphosis.” It’s an homage to impermanence, to change, to development, to the flux of the modern moment.

The 17 speakers at this sixth annual conference will gives talks that, at least loosely, connect to this theme — and among those speakers is #dctech founder Stacie Whisonant of PYT Funds. Whisonant will discuss issues associated with funding higher education, a topic she’s passionate (and knowledgeable!) about.

Recall, PYT (Pay Your Tuition) Funds is a fintech solution for high-achieving students who are close to finishing college, but just need a little extra cash to get there. PYT Funds helps these students get micro-loans without the need for a parent to co-sign. Whisonant was a Fall 2016 Halcyon Incubator fellow, and a finalist in the Vinetta Project’s 2016 venture challenge.

Want to see Whisonant and others speak at TEDxFoggyBottom? You can still grab tickets for the day long event set for April 22 — grab ’em here.
