No new cyber charter schools will open in Pa. in 2014

Pennsylvania’s Department of Education denied all six proposals for new cyber charter schools, Newsworks reported. Two of the schools planned to operate out of Philadelphia.

“The state’s 14 existing cyber-charter schools – which educate students via computers in students’ homes – have thus far produced dismal academic results for their 35,000 students statewide,” Newsworks reported.
