New Castle County police are using science to return lost items

It's called DNAnet, a translucent liquid folks can apply to their most coveted items.

Much like a dog marks its territory, New Castle County Police are encouraging locals to do the same.
Police officials announced earlier this week the adoption of a new scientific approach to returning lost property. It’s called DNAnet, a translucent liquid folks can apply to their most coveted items and, in the event of theft and then recovery, can be used to return that item to its rightful owner.
“With applied science help, the average person is going to be able to mark their property,” said New Castle County Police Chief Col. E.M. Setting at a press conference. “Anything as small as a ring, as big as a car, and anything in between.”
