Johns Hopkins University will invest $10 million over the next five years in businesses and improvement projects in proximate neighborhoods to its Homewood Campus in Charles Village, reports the Baltimore Business Journal.
The funding is one element of the Homewood Community Partners Initiative, launched by Hopkins in 2011.

According to theĀ Baltimore Business Journal, Hopkins will also “be setting new goals to hire city residents and do business with local companies,” and “plans to provide job training and recruitment in nearby neighborhoods and create career advancement programs for employees who live locally.”
