Google needs to do more to protect people’s privacy: MD attorney general

Maryland attorney general Doug Gansler said Google officials met with state regulators Wednesday.

Maryland’s attorney general Doug Gansler “joined 22 other states this week in sending a letter to Google saying more needs to be done to protect consumers’ privacy,” reports the Baltimore Sun.
Gansler said Google officials met with state regulators Wednesday.
As Technically Baltimore reported in March, Maryland will receive $130,388 as part of a $7 million settlement with 37 states after it was discovered that Google was collecting computer passwords and e-mails from unsecured computer networks as it was building its Street View mapping service.
