Mayor de Blasio expected to keep David Ehrenberg Navy Yard CEO

Mayor de Blasio is expected to reappoint David Ehrenberg as the CEO at The Brooklyn Navy Yard. We covered Ehrenberg’s appointment in August. From Crain’s:

“My job is to take advantage of the momentum this complex has built up and continue that,” Mr. Ehrenberg said. “I came into the job last September knowing it was a risk whether I would be hired to stay on because the Navy Yard is something I’m really passionate about and a success story I wanted to help make sure would continue.”

Mr. Ehrenberg will oversee the redevelopment of three large properties at the yard that will bring it to about 5.5 million square feet of space over the next 5 years and 12,000 employees, 70% more than the current number there. He must also wrap up a $300 million deal to have Steiner Studios, the largest tenant at the Navy Yard, expand into a former hospital space at the yard and build an outdoor sound stage that will be the first of its kind in the city.
