Code for Baltimore is turning to the community for thoughts about open data.
The civic-minded brigade, which launched in Baltimore in January, is having a public forum on open data this week at the Maryland Science Center.
On the civic side, Baltimore was one of the first cities to launch an open data platform with Open Baltimore in 2011. There were some additions and improvements, such as 911 call data last year.
Thursday night’s event is a chance to weigh in with your own views. Code for Baltimore wants to know what members of the community think about open data in Baltimore, and how they want to use it. The team also wants to identify trends, and how they could be applied in Baltimore.

Come ready to participate. The Feb. 16 event invites the audience to be the speakers. Brigade captain Wes Etheredge is moderating a fishbowl-style panel featuring audience members answering three to five questions.
