Livestream announced this morning that it has been acquired by video giant Vimeo, according to a post on the company’s site.
Vimeo will incorporate Livestream technology into a new product, Vimeo Live, from which producers will be able to livestream video through Vimeo’s platform.
“For the immediate future, the Livestream team and brand will continue to operate as usual,” Livestream wrote its announcement post. “Long term, we expect to integrate Livestream’s capabilities fully within Vimeo to offer the world’s best end-to-end video solution.”
I’m excited to announce that we have agreed to sell @Livestream to @Vimeo (an IAC company). Thankful and excited. https://t.co/e11dkMse4o
