Gimlet Media announced it’s adding a new podcast to its repertoire, and it’s all about startups.
Called The Pitch, host Josh Muccio will follow startup founders and investors through the process of pitching and investing.
To announce the show, Gimlet cofounders Alex Blumberg and Matt Lieber talked about how Muccio sent them a cold email about an episode he’d produced and asked them to listen to it.

The episode was from Season 2 of The Pitch, which Muccio has been working on solo since 2015. In it, he records an offer from a VC to a founder and the negotiations that take place.
“We put the founder in a room and the investors in a room and we walked into the mixing booth and were not even in the room and it just happened,” Muccio recalled. “I didn’t have a voice in the investor’s ear, we just let it all play out and so it’s true, it’s organic, it’s real.”
It’s been a busy week for Gimlet, as the podcasting publishers signed a longterm lease earlier this week on a beautiful office in Downtown Brooklyn, and announced they’re hiring.
