This weekend head to the NYU Game Center in Downtown Brooklyn for a weekend of game-making with tons of local designers, as well as those collaborating from all over the world.
It’s the Game Center’s Global Game Jam, where designers will be given a theme and 48 hours to make the best game they can.

“On Friday at 6PM, we’ll kick things off with the official GGJ keynote videos and theme announcement (the same kick-off that happens all over the world!),” according to the event’s site. “Following the kick-off, everyone starts to brainstorm ideas, form teams, and make games. The weekend is casually structured, and you’re welcome to work at whatever pace you like, with whomever you like, using whatever you like.”
Some top-notch games have come out of the NYU Game Jam, including Mushroom 11, which won major acclaim from national publications. We profiled the game’s creators, Julia Keren-Detar and Itay Keren, in 2015.
