If you live in Dumbo or Park Slope you probably already know that your neighborhoods are ballin’ outta control. But you might not know how much that contrasts with large parts of the rest of Brooklyn.
The riverfront census tract of Brooklyn Heights has the highest per capita income at $115,568. Dumbo has the highest median household income, $193.942. Head inland however, and income is lower. One census tract in Brownsville has per capita income of just $7,663 and a median household income of $10,674.
The map does technically feature every census tract in the country, and though we’ve never been 100 percent sure that life exists outside of New York, you could, theoretically check out anywhere with this map. Not bad.
