“The brain is unimaginably complex and incredibly powerful,” the event page says. “Sometimes, it can be tough to live with! Anxiety, depression and other conditions can make life difficult, no matter one’s circumstances. However, treatments like therapy, medication, meditation and exercise can help a great deal. We’d like to talk about this in the medium of games!”
Brain Jam kicks off Friday night at 6:30 at NYU Magnet and continues through the weekend. It’s free.
“I want to explore interactivity and find new ways to make interesting kinds of games,” she said. “How we can use games to convey experiences … like how it feels when someone’s dancing. So you’re actually making music with your hands and feet. I’m working on a couple other [games] that are about the human experience, race and gender, and microagressions. I do all kinds of fun stuff!”
