A little while back we flagged Kickstarter’s announcement that it is going to have a film fest. It will actually be three film fests. First in Brooklyn, then in Los Angeles and then in London.

Of course we need maintain our journalistic aplomb about these things, but Kickstarter’s shindig in Fort Greene looks like it’s going to be beyond great. The only possible downside would just be too many people. Loads of crowdfunded films are on the lineup, plus a performance by one of our favorite local musicians, Kaki King. Also lots of great vendors on hand for snacking and keeping cool. Wow.

This is by no means the company’s first film fest, but we continue to maintain that it is no accident that Kickstarter is emphasizing film lately.
