With 8k users, Brooklyn is the strongest borough on reddit

The Brooklyn subreddit currently has 8,131 readers, as of this writing. The page recently initiated its own Meetup (membership is moderated), which just broke 200 members. 8000+ easily beats any of the other boroughs, in terms of participation on the site.

It makes sense, since one of Reddit‘s founders, Alexis Ohanian, lives here. Full disclosure, this reporter, my editor and others on our team are active users.

Queens has 1.444, Staten Island has 594, The Bronx has 455 and Manhattan only has 276. Though, in fairness, Manhattan redditors probably just think of r/NYC as theirs, as that’s how people are there (that one has over 57,000 readers).

The Brooklyn subreddit has been a source for Technically Brooklyn in the past, most notably for its suggestions of homegrown podcasts.
