VitusVet moves to Baltimore from Columbia, plans hiring

VitusVet has relocated from Columbia to Baltimore city and is looking to continue expanding its team.

The startup, which makes a platform that helps veterinary practices centralize communication, moved into space at Brewers Hill HUB coworking space in Canton’s Natty Boh Tower. It was previously located in an office at the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship.

“Our move to Baltimore is an exciting time for the VitusVet team,” said Dr. Mark Olcott, VitusVet’s CEO, in an emailed statement. “As we continue to grow our revenue and expand our team, Baltimore provides us incredible resources and access to talent.”

The company was drawn by the accessibility and amenities of the urban location, as well as visibility it provides in the local tech community and investors, Oloctt said.

When working as a veterinarian, Olcott saw a need to bring tech tools to the practice. The company’s platform provides tools to help veterinary offices automate functions like appointments and sending messages and reminders to clients. For pet owners, it provides a place to access health records, fill prescriptions and track health information.

Olcott has said the company is looking to scale this year. It’s looking to grow from 20 people to a team of more than 40. Currently, it has eight employees working in Canton and 12 working remotely. Some of the open roles include a senior developer, director of finance and director of human resources, along with sales account executives.
