Charlotte James will be starting a new position as Director of Outreach with edtech company Common Curriculum in May. James served as Communications Director at Code in the Schools for three years, joining the five-year-old computer science education organization through the Baltimore Corps fellowship.

Founded in Baltimore, Common Curriculum provides a platform for educators to plan and organize lessons. James will be joining a team of three, helping to build a community of teachers and school leaders, as well as running events and social media.

“I am looking forward to expanding my work in tech education to a new arena while working on a small team with a strong focus and value for feedback,” she said.

The Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore has a slate of new board members, including a chair. Rick Kohr, the founder and CEO of Evergreen Advisors, will succeed M&T Bank Greater Baltimore/Chesapeake President August Chiasera as chair for a two-year term.

“We are participating in a fast-paced and ever-changing world which requires a new way of thinking and solving problems,” Kohr said in a statement. “Thanks to Augie and our Board Directors, we are confident in our ability to drive inclusive growth opportunities throughout Greater Baltimore.”

More new board members include:

  • Karen Cherry, Vice President, The Howard Hughes Corporation
  • Jason Dandridge, Managing Director, Morgan Stanley
  • Shaina Green, CIO, Constellation
  • Dr. Elliot Hirshman, President, Stevenson University
  • Rhonda Pringle, Publisher and Market President, Baltimore Business Journal

Bandura Systems is continuing to add to its executive team following its recent $3.5 million raise. The cybersecurity company hired Ian Dix as Chief Revenue Officer, who will report to recently-appointed CEO Chris Fedde.

Dix most recently worked at CenturyLink in a pair of marketing roles at the VP level. He previously worked as CMO at Belcamp-based SafeNet, where Fedde was CEO.

“Chris and I have had success before and I know his high expectations for this role,” Dix said in a statement. “I will use my background in marketing to take a digital approach to our sales efforts and will utilize my many relationships in the industry to quickly accelerate adoption of the incredible, patented global security solution that Bandura has created.”

Bandura makes a product built on technology known as a threat intelligence gateway, which compiles information on cyber threats and applies rules to defend against and block threats.
