When a national cyber competition comes to town this spring, a local squad will be among the competitors.

A team from Towson prep school Loyola Blakefield is among the finalists in CyberPatriot IX.

The finals of the competition organized by the Air Force Association and Northrop Grumman Foundation are set to be held April 2-6 at the Hyatt Regency in Inner Harbor.

Loyola Blakefield’s team, nicknamed Dons CSC Cerulean, is among a dozen finalists in the open division. About 4,400 teams from across the country started competing in online challenges in the fall. At the finals they will compete to defend virtual networks and mobile devices from a professional team.

According to Loyola Blakefield’s release from the regionals, the team is made up of Henry Ballentine, Jack Connolly, Colin Bowes, Ainsley O’Garro, Henry Mackay and Matt Hawkins. It’s led by Loyola Blakefield Director of Cyber Science Steve Morrill.
