After a long winter in Annapolis, Uber is headed for the beach this summer.
Uber announced it is launching UberX service at the Maryland beach destinations of Ocean City and St. Michaels. The official launch is Friday, according to the company’s announcement.
It’s part of a start-of-summer move into more than 20 beach towns on the East Coast.
In Maryland, Uber has added comfort rolling into the new destinations. The state legislature cleared the way for a new regulatory scheme for ridesharing companies, ending a drawn-out saga with the state’s Public Service Commission.
