KoolSpan graduates from UMBC incubator [Cybersecurity Roundup]

This is the Cybersecurity Roundup, a weekly look at what's going on in Maryland's fast-growing cybersecurity sector.

The National Security Agency named Towson University one of 13 National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations earlier this month, as Technical.ly Baltimore reported. The designation, which comes with rigorous curricular requirements, makes Towson the first such center in Maryland.

Mobile cybersecurity startup KoolSpan graduated from the bwtech@UMBC incubator, The Daily Record reports. The Bethesda firm now employs 40 and holds 20 patents.

Bandura CEO Suzanne Magee says her company lost an investor due to Maryland’s tax credit laws, which prevent tax credits from transferring to investors, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.

Federal Hill-based ZeroFOX is hiring Scala, Java and Python developers.

In Columbia, nTech Solutions is seeking a SQL server developer.
