Aereo: online TV livestreaming service launches in Baltimore

Per an Aereo e-mail, the option isn't available for the "general public" in Baltimore just yet, but those who pre-registered for Aereo are now able to sign up for the service.

Aereo is now in Baltimore city.
The service allows users to watch live television from their computers, tablets and mobile phones. Television signals are transformed into computer data and then sent to Aereo subscribers’ compatible devices. A cable subscription is not required, and users who pay for an Aereo subscription package are also able to record television shows.
Aereo is in nine different U.S. markets now, but not without contest, as television companies and broadcasters “say it steals their copyrighted material.”
Per an Aereo e-mail, the option isn’t available for the “general public” in Baltimore just yet, but those who signed up for pre-registration should have received an e-mail saying, “We’re excited to offer you exclusive access to Aereo before it becomes available to the general public in Baltimore.”
