Eric Temmel

Eric K. Temmel is a health law regulatory and transactional associate in Ballard Spahr’s Health Care Practice Group. Eric counsels corporate entities regarding formation, operations and transactions, with a particular focus on compliance with laws specific to the healthcare industry. These include referral, kickback and fee splitting prohibitions, requirements related to corporate telehealth/telemedicine infrastructure and the corporate practice of medicine doctrine. Eric drafts and reviews agreements related to acquisitions, affiliations, health data, professional services, administrative services and provider reimbursement. Eric’s regulatory practice relates to healthcare finance, HIPAA, HITECH and state privacy or data breach requirements. Eric also counsels healthcare entities regarding a variety of regulatory issues related to licensure, scope of practice, accreditation and patient consent. While in law school, Eric interned at the University of Pennsylvania Health System and Geisinger Health System. He also obtained a Master of Bioethics degree and chaired the University of Pennsylvania Law School’s Health Law and Policy Project.
