Are you a loyal Philly Tech Week presented by Comcast Dev Conference attendee? Whether you’re an experienced developer or just getting into the engineering world, this year’s Dev Conference is going to look a lot different than in years past.

My name is Clayton Wert, and I’m the new events and experiences manager at Technical.ly. My background is in building community through program design and experiential learning. I’ve worked as a career coach assisting job seekers in navigating professional transitions to web development and UI/UX design, and I’m bringing all of my know-how to future Technical.ly experiences.

What I’ve learned is that in order to create an experience that’s enriching, it’s best to ask the community itself what’s needed. So our goal for Dev Conference 2019 is to create a conference for you, by you.

This year, we will be taking over Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business and inviting technology experts to speak on the key trends and topics you want to hear about.

We’ll have three different rooms that each have a specific industry focus, and you’ll have the opportunity to learn from senior tech leaders, programmers and luminaries in local tech organizations that are making a direct impact.

Industry room breakdown:

• Fintech
• Healthcare
• Startups and “new technology”

Each industry room is focused on the tools and technologies that encapsulate the present and future of everyday life working in those respective fields. For instance, the healthcare room will discuss genomics and defense in disease technology. The fintech room will host discussions regarding blockchain investing in the digital economy and insurance AI.

Because this is for developers, and by developers, we want to hear what you’re passionate about — machine learning, cloud-based software, IoT, a deep dive on object-oriented JavaScript? That’s what this conference is all about. What interests you?

How to get involved:

Attend: Tickets are $65 for an all-access pass which gives you admission to a full day of programming in addition to a catered lunch and afternoon snack.

Speak: If you have something to say during Dev Conference, or any time at all, we want to hear from you! Our Speaker Interest Form is open year-round and the Technical.ly team references the submissions for any and all speaker needs. (Tip: Please be as detailed and descriptive as possible. We are looking for speakers to discuss technical topics! This includes topics from C++ to JavaScript, React and more related to our Dev Conference rooms.)
