At cleantech company Inspire, with offices in Center City and Santa Monica, Calif., employees are used to using video chats to get work done. That’s why it opened up its Cleantech Connect Project mentorship program to aspiring cleantech pros (from college students to career switchers) regardless of where they are in the world.
For eight weeks, mentees will be paired with Inspire mentors to get the “foundational knowledge” they’ll need to set off on a career in the clean energy space, a vertical responsible for some 4 million jobs across the U.S.
“We’re providing a platform to future leaders to meet with individuals who are already making waves in the cleantech industry, allowing them to pick their brain and learn from their successes and mistakes,” said Inspire’s Casey Plasker. “It’s an opportunity for future leaders to grow their professional networks and meet like-minded peers who will one day be the face of the cleantech movement.”
Apply by Aug. 24Plasker, 25, was based out of Philly until January, when she left for New York to get her master’s in sustainability management at Columbia University.
“Making real change is a collective and collaborative effort,” said Plasker in an email. “We’ve created a platform to help foster this connection.”
