Startups looking to get their first taste of venture capital have one week left to apply to the Demo Pit, a main component of the annual Phorum conference organized by the Philadelphia Alliance of Capital and Technology.

Happening April 12 at the SugarHouse Event Center, the event promises to showcase some of Philly’s top early stage companies in spaces like artificial intelligence, blockchain, augmented reality and low-cost sensors before an audience of execs and investors.

Selected companies will get a chance to present their products on the demo pit stage. A panel of judges will select three companies as Demo Pit Finalists, which will each be announced on the main stage. One will be named “Best in Show,” much like Tesorio and Cloudamize have done in the past.

“Phorum us known for showcasing disruptive technologies and the different ways organizations are using technology to transform their businesses,” said Dean Miller, PACT’s president and CEO. “We have a tremendous lineup of speakers and a full-day of high-quality content planned for Phorum 2018.”

Apply by March 2

The nonprofit also announced Nick Carr, author of The Glass Cage: How Our Computers Are Changing Us as the keynote speaker for the event.
