In lieu of holiday trinkets to give its vendors and clients, Conshohocken-based IT services company TechWise decided to put that dough to better use by offering a local nonprofit access to tech and services.

As part of its Cloud for a Cause program, the company will pick a local nonprofit and offer free migration of a team of 20 or less to a cloud-based Microsoft Office 365 environment, consulting and a $400 gift card for new gear or extra services.

Is it in companies best interest to get on Microsoft’s platform? Many already do, according to the company.

“We work with a lot of nonprofits,” said TechWise’s Marketing and Accounting Manager Sabine Mueller. “In our experience we aren’t being the asked the question, ‘Why should we switch to Office 365?’ as most of the nonprofits contacting us have already made the choice to move to Office 365.”

The goal of the program is to assist nonprofits migrate to the cloud and increase their efficiency.

Apply by Dec. 22

“We think that most nonprofit organizations that are interested in switching to Microsoft would be well off using some of the free options,” Mueller said. “Switching to one of the plans that would require a monthly fee might not even be needed in their case.”
