ROAR for Good is hitting the three-year mark this month and, to celebrate, it’s giving a bulk-sized order of its flagship Athena product — a wearable safety device — to Philly-based nonprofit Women Against Abuse.

The company, which started shipping the product over the summer, is donating 250 Athenas to the organization, a service provider to victims of domestic violence.

“Perhaps the most exciting part of the company is our ROARBack program where a portion of proceeds are invested into educational programs that are teaching respect, healthy relationships, and consent to youth — the kinds of programs that have been shown to increase empathy and reduce violence in adulthood,” said cofounder Yasmine Mustafa.

“Our long-term goal is for there no longer to be a need for safety devices like Athena and companies like ROAR,” said CEO Anthony Gold. “Until then, we’ll do everything in our power to make a difference.”

Join ROAR as it donates the gadgets — and celebrates its third birthday — at Saxbys HQ on Nov. 20.
