Watch this video of the Reading Viaduct before it becomes the Rail Park

The newest video from Philly-based videographer Cory Popp, best known for his “insufferably lovely” sense of aesthetic and skyline porn, takes a look at something not quite as pretty (yet): the upcoming Viaduct Rail Park.
This 25,000-square-foot space is slated to slice through 10 neighborhoods. The highly anticipated project’s first phase is expected to be completed in early 2018, according to Philly.com.

The minute-long vid gives a rough outlook of the park’s upcoming structure which is split up into three main sections: The Tunnel, the Cut and the Viaduct. As you can probably tell, it’s going to take some serious work and resources to get the space up to the project’s expectations (even with that $3.5 million state grant)
“There’s been a lot of interest in the Rail Park recently since they broke ground a few weeks ago, but few people have actually seen all three sections of it,” Popp wrote in an email. “I wanted to show people how much of the park there actually is, and help build excitement and momentum for the project.”
In the clip, those seeking a grittier look at Philly can eyeball the graffiti-laden Tunnel section. But in case you just came here for your usual fix of Philly loveliness, the artist also released this poppin’ Ultra HD look at the Christmas Village jawn currently posted up around City Hall.
